Bottom Line
As you can see from our Laguna 1412 BandSaw review, it is a premium product that has better cutting capacities than a chainsaw, and most table saws.
With 1¾ horsepower at your disposal, there is hardly any material that you cannot cut with this saw no matter how hard the said material might be in texture.
The major problem we have with this bandsaw is that it is too expensive. The description on Amazon is also misleading. Not everything described comes with the saw at the original price displayed.

Features of the Laguna 1412 BandSaw
Powerful and Fast Motor
The Laguna 1412 BandSaw is not the first BandSaw by Laguna. It is an upgrade to the previous version by the same company.
This product, the Laguna 1412 Band Saw has a 1¾ HP TEFC motor which is just perfect for cutting most materials in your workshop.
The average bandsaw comes with a 1 to 1½ horsepower motor but some can come with as much as 3 HP.
If you need a saw for home improvement or medium-scale commercial projects, it will be just fine for you.
Only people interested in industry-size cutting go for saws above 2HP. The Laguna 1412 Band Saw has 110 Volts but it can compete with a bandsaw of 220 volts.
Keep in mind that the 14 amp motor has an incredibly impressive feed rate. So, it isn’t going to get strained or damaged no matter how fast you feed it.

Aluminum Rip Fence
Not every saw comes with a rip fence. Some people need to go out of their way to construct a fence for their saw after purchasing it. This is because they only realize the importance of a fence after buying it.
A bandsaw can’t be called safe if it doesn’t have a rip fence because it is an integral part of it. With a good fence system, you’ll be able to get accurate cuts with your saw.
The aluminum fence on the Laguna 1412 BandSaw runs parallel to the blade of the saw. It is an adjustable fence. So, you can change the position to fit the width of the cut.
It is made with the finest form of aluminum for this purpose. So, you don’t need to worry about the fence getting damaged shortly after you purchase it.
12-Inches Resaw Capacity
Resawing is an important aspect of woodworking. It is the process of cutting materials into small, often identical multiple pieces for special purposes.
Like many other good bandsaws, the Laguna 1412 Band Saw has a resaw capacity of 12-inches. However, it is important to note that it can go as high as 13-inches.
All you have to do is install the resaw blade and get the work. You don’t need to tune or adjust any other part of the saw when you want to use the resaw feature.
After changing the blade, check the squaring and tracking to ensure that everything is fine.
The Laguna 1412 BandSaw resaws without wrecking, tweaking, or straining which is more than we can say for many other bandsaws in the market.
No matter how wide the original material is, you can get thinner, more precise slices from it thanks to the amazing resawing capacity.
Trunnion 8-inches X 13-inches
Never underestimate the power of an iron cast Trunnion on a bandsaw. The trunnion on the Laguna 1412 BandSaw is 8″ X 13″.
So, it allows you to tilt the axis of your saw so that it can align with the table when you’re cutting. The trunnion ensures that the table doesn’t wiggle from left no matter the weight of what you’re cutting.
The Laguna 1412 Band Saw tilts 7 degrees to the left and 45 degrees to the right. The positive stop is at 90 degrees when you use the micro-adjust feature.
Safety Features
Bandsaws are among the safest when it comes to power tools. Still, some bandsaws are even more secure than others.
The Laguna 1412 BandSaw has many safety features that combine to reduce the risk of operational hazards.
It comes with many safety features including a Csa certified, illuminated switch. Even if you are using a great saw, keep in mind that you still need to take several safety measures to ensure that you don’t get injured.
Make sure that you wear the right safety gear, and every part of the bandsaw is set properly before you start. If you’re an amateur, make sure you feed the machine slowly to avoid injury.

Laguna 1412 BandSaw Review The Verdict
Our Laguna 1412 BandSaw review verdict is that it is a great option for professionals and novices alike. It comes with a clear manual with instructions for anyone who hasn’t used a bandsaw for once in their lives.
If the manual isn’t descriptive enough, you can always check YouTube. However, we noticed that the description on Amazon is misleading.
It states that the Laguna 1412 Band Saw comes with wheels but none were found in the package.
After spending almost $1300 on the saw, we had to spend an additional $200 on mobility kit because the saw was too heavy to carry around at 266 pounds.
